The region consists of China, Hong Kong, Macau, Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan. The East Asian people are some of the most populous in the world, with over 1.6 billion people calling the region home. The region is also home to some of the world’s oldest civilizations, including China and Japan. East Asia is a culturally diverse region, with each country having its own unique customs and traditions. However, there are some commonalities between the countries, such as a focus on family, education and hard work. The region has a long history of trade and cultural exchange, which has resulted in a unique East Asian culture. East Asia is also home to a number of world-famous tourist destinations, such as the Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City and Mount Fuji.
