Saint Joseph explained to kids

Saint Joseph is the patron saint of the Catholic Church, and he is also known as the foster father of Jesus Christ. Saint Joseph was a carpenter, and he was betrothed to Mary, the mother of Jesus. The Gospels of Matthew and Luke in the Bible tell us that Joseph was a righteous man who was unwilling to divorce Mary when he found out she was pregnant. Instead, Joseph took Mary into his home and protected her. Saint Joseph is also known for his dream in which an angel told him to take Mary and Jesus to Egypt to escape from King Herod, who was trying to kill Jesus. After Herod died, the angel appeared to Joseph again in a dream and told him it was safe to return to Israel. Today, Catholics pray to Saint Joseph for guidance and protection, and he is the patron saint of families, carpenters, and workers.
