Religiosity and education explained to kids

Religion is a set of beliefs about a god or gods. People who share these beliefs are called religious. Education is the process of learning. Some religious people believe that their god or gods have put them here on Earth to learn. They think that education is a way to get closer to their god or gods. Other religious people believe that they already know everything they need to know about their god or gods. They think that education is a way to teach other people about their beliefs. There are many different religions. Some of the major religions are Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, and Buddhism. There are also many smaller religions. Most religious people get their education from their parents or from their religious leaders. Some religious people go to special schools to learn more about their religion. Some religious people believe that education is very important. They think that everyone should have the opportunity to learn. Other religious people believe that education is not as important. They think that people should only learn about their own religion. Most countries have laws that say everyone must go to school until they are a certain age. This is called compulsory education. In some countries, religious education is part of the compulsory education. This means that everyone must learn about a particular religion. In other countries, religious education is not part of the compulsory education. This means that people can choose whether or not they want to learn about a particular religion.
