The capital of Abkhazia is Sukhumi. Abkhazia covers an area of about 8,660 square kilometers. Abkhazia is a mountainous country. The highest point is Mount Dzhimarik at an elevation of 3,639 meters. Abkhazia has a humid subtropical climate. The average temperature in January is 5 degrees Celsius and the average temperature in July is 24 degrees Celsius. Abkhazia has a rich and diverse culture. The Abkhaz people have their own language and alphabet. Abkhazia also has its own flag and national anthem. Abkhazia is a very popular tourist destination. The country has many beautiful beaches, mountains, and waterfalls. Abkhazia is also home to a number of World Heritage Sites. Abkhazia declared independence from Georgia in 2008. However, Georgia does not recognize Abkhazia as an independent country.
