The main ones are European Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese. European Portuguese is spoken in Portugal, while Brazilian Portuguese is spoken in Brazil. There are also many Portuguese words in English, such as "pirate" and "mosquito". Portuguese is a very old language. It was first spoken in the region that is now Portugal. The first Portuguese dictionary was published in 1516.
