Charles Darwin explained to kids

Charles Darwin was a British scientist who lived in the 1800s. He is famous for his work on the theory of evolution. This is the idea that all living things have evolved, or changed, over time. Darwin was born in 1809. When he was a young man, he studied medicine at university. But he was more interested in animals and plants than in people. So he left university and went on a trip around the world on a ship called the HMS Beagle. During his trip, Darwin collected many specimens of plants and animals. He noticed that some of them were similar to others, but not exactly the same. He also noticed that some plants and animals were better suited to their environment than others. When he returned to England, Darwin wrote a book about his ideas. The book was called On the Origin of Species. In it, he explained his theory of evolution. The book caused a lot of debate. Some people agreed with Darwin, but others did not. Darwin continued to study evolution and wrote more books about it. Today, Darwin is considered one of the most important scientists in history. His work has helped us to understand how all living things have evolved over time.
